 • Basic Level - This tutorial describes how to create and play a very simple additive level.

 - First begin by using Geometry Tool. This is on the upper left hand corner right below save. This will allow you to edit the vertices of the

active brush. Select vertex mode on the geometry tool dialog box.

 - The builder brush has been modified to create a floor. After the brush is moved and sized into the correct location, select a material in the generic browser. Materials are what are assigned to surfaces. They will also be outlined in green in the generic browser. To create the

brush click on the Add button on the left hand toolbar. (Hover for an icon to view its name).

 - After the brush has been added to the level select the surface by left clicking on it. This will select the surface. This will allow you

to edit the properties of the surface. To get the surface properties dialog right click on the surface and select Surface properties. Here I have scaled the texture to be larger by setting the scaling to 2.0 then clicking apply.

 - To add a light to the level right click on any surface and select Actor>Light(Point). This will add a light where you selected.

 - To add a player start right click on a flat open surface then select Actor>PlayerStart.

 - To add static meshes to a level open the generic browser and select any static mesh. Static meshes are outlined in light blue in the generic browser.

 - To add the selected static mesh to your level right click on any surface and select Actor>StaticMesh package.group.name etc. The name of the option you want to select in the context menu is the name of the mesh. This is expressed by package name, group and mesh name.

 - To add a sky simply look for a sky dome static mesh in the generic browser. One main package of these is SkyDomes.

  - When you the sky dome static mesh to the level it most likely will be to small. To fix this change the scale of the mesh in the status bar at the bottom of the screen. (It is the far left textbox next to the position status). Changing this to 80 will make the skydome much larger to fit the world inside of it.

 - This is the result in the level. (It may not look good but I do have settings on highest)
