• • Basic Static Mesh - This tutorial describes how import and assign a selected texture to a new static mesh. The static mesh I am importing is an .ase from 3dx Max.
- In the generic browser select Import.
- After selecting you mesh file (*.ase) The resource import dialog will open. Specify the package, group and name of the new static mesh and select OK.
- After the mesh is imported find it in the generic browser and double click on it. This will open the static mesh editor. (If your mesh had no material from whatever program you exported it from unrealed will automatically assign one).
- To assign a new material to your mesh; Select the LODInfo drop down on the right side of the static mesh editor. Then select the first number of the array of materials that this mesh can have, then select the elements dropdown. This will also contain an array of elements. After selecting your material in the generic browser, click the green arrow where it says Material.
