• • Basic Terrain - This tutorial shows how to create terrain with one layer.
- First open the generic browser and select File>New..
- Create a new TerrainLayerSetup. Specify the package the group and the name of the layer setup. From the drop down list select TerrainLayerSetup.
- Now create a Terrain Material the same way as above.
- Double click the new terrain material. This will pull up its properties. Select the ground material that you want to be on the terrain (Ex: grass, rock etc) and then click on the green arrow.
- Double click the terrain layer setup. Now select the new terrain material. Click the green arrow to assign the new terrain material to the material of the terrain layer setup.
- With this done the terrain layer setup should be complete. Close everything and select Tools>New Terrain.
- Skip past the first step in the new terrain wizard. In the second step make sure to select the new terrain layer setup that was just created then click Finish.
- Now a square of terrain will appear. ( I added a single light to see it)
- Now select the terrain tool on the left hand toolbar. (The mountains). This will open the terrain editing tool. There are many options here to modify terrain but for now select the tool paint. (Under tool) and set the radius and falloff to larger numbers to get a larger terrain tool. Ctrl left click will raise the terrain and ctrl right click will lower the terrain.
